CHIRLA (COALITION FOR HUMANE IMMIGRANT RIGHTS)

For more than 30 years, CHIRLA has been working to expand immigrant rights and defend their community against attacks from those who seek to scapegoat and blame them for systemic problems. In California and the nation, they drive the quest for fair, comprehensive immigration reform that acknowledges the contributions of their people and recognizes that this country is multi-ethic, vari-colored and enriched by the diverse heritages of generations of immigrants.

FIELD TEAM 6

Field Team 6 is a national volunteer army with a simple mission: Register Democrats. Save the world. By targeting places that need Democrats most, we aim to take the White House, flip the Senate, and expand our House majority.

SHOWING UP FOR RACIAL JUSTICE (SURJ)

Racism and white supremacy keep the many divided for the benefit of the few. We must have an inclusive, open-hearted approach to organizing -- calling people into this work rather than creating barriers to participation -- while maintaining a clear political line.

VIRUSFREEVOTING.ORG

Our mission is to offer a well-defined, built-to-replicate, sustainable, and trackable system for increasing the Social Storm capacity of participating Indivisible groups across the country.

The project moves Vote by Mail legislation, increases collaboration, prevents duplicating efforts, and leads to more frequent engagement with electeds online through Social Storms.

PROJECT SUPER BLOOM

Project Super Bloom is a youth-led organization that enables young people to get their voices heard in California politics. We support candidates who fight for our futures by taking action on the most pressing issues facing our generation, like stopping the climate crisis and standing up for social justice. We think young people aren't just voters but are a crucial part of building effective campaigns, which is why Project Super Bloom gives young people a seat at the strategy table on political campaigns.

Project Super Bloom is running an internship program that will give students the opportunity to immerse themselves in political organizing, learning from experts in campaign finance, fundraising, policy, and electoral politics. Students will then apply the knowledge they gain to a local campaign where they will act as a youth strategist on the campaign team, meeting with state candidates for office, and help devise a plan to win.

CIVIC SUNDAYS

Election action, every Sunday. Phone banking, text banking, postcarding, and canvassing for progressive candidates nationwide.

By gathering at a home (on Zoom) with blank cards, addresses, phones, and laptops and getting to work. Or by hitting the pavement with local organizations and campaigns.

When we do it: Every single Sunday.

INDIVISIBLE

Indivisible started as the Indivisible Guide, a Google Doc guide to organizing locally to pressure your elected officials to resist Trump’s agenda. It caught fire as millions of people picked up the guide and its name - Indivisible - and organized their own local Indivisible groups to put the guide into action. These new Indivisible activists formed a nationwide movement of people taking matters into their own hands to build their own power through collective action.

SISTER DISTRICT

The Sister District Project works to turn states blue by winning state legislative elections. We “sister” volunteers from deep blue districts with carefully targeted races in swing districts, where flipping control of the state legislature will advance progressive policy, and help end partisan gerrymandering. Our volunteers canvass, phonebank, write postcards, textbank, and fundraise for candidates. We welcome volunteers and candidates of all genders.

VOTING RIGHTS LAB

The Voting Rights Lab is a nonpartisan organization that brings state advocacy, policy, and legislative expertise to the fight for voting rights. We work in partnership with organizations across the country to build winning state legislative campaigns that secure, protect, and defend the voting rights of all Americans.

THE STATES PROJECT

The States Project connects the importance of state legislatures to every aspect of our lives and brings together communities to help build a healthy, sustainable, and prosperous future for all.

Our electoral work focuses on winning governing majorities in the states by making state legislative campaigns more effective and better-funded. We do it because we believe that state legislatures are the strongest force for change in this country.

COURAGE CALIFORNIA

By engaging in this rigorous, multi-faceted process, Courage Score is a reliable and comprehensive tool for progressive Californians to quickly and easily assess the political courage of each state legislator — and hold them to account. Courage Score helps Californians see which representatives stand up and fight against the corporations and lobbyists seeking to exploit their constituents — and which ones prioritize the needs of corporations and wealthy interests.

Visit CourageScore.org to find out who your elected officials are, see their scores and voting history, and discover who to hold accountable and who to celebrate.

REGISTER BLUE

Register Blue is a grassroots community organization started in Los Angeles. Prompted by the election and inauguration of Donald Trump, the mission of Register Blue is to increase the number of Democrats voting in flippable districts across the country.

SWING LEFT

In 2018, taking back the House was the one big way we put a check on Trump and the GOP. In 2020, we worked on all of the key ways to further curb their destructive agenda and restore our democracy: flipping the Senate, defending the House, winning the state-level races needed to ensure fair maps in the 2021 redistricting—and, of course, taking back the Presidency. To see live results on the races we're tracking, check out our results page.

Swing Left helps you find the most impactful things you can do to help Democrats win key elections.

WHITE PEOPLE FOR BLACK LIVES

The Alliance of White Anti-Racists Everywhere – Los Angeles (AWARE-LA) is an all-volunteer alliance of white anti-racist people organizing to challenge racism and work for racial justice in transformative alliance with people of color. We take collective action to build white anti-racist and multiracial alliances to contribute to a broad-based, social justice movement.

ASO COMMUNICATIONS
(POWER MESSAGING)

Conventional wisdom says to meet people where they are. But, on most issues, where they are is unacceptable. Applying tools from cognition and linguistics, we uncover where people are capable of going and how to use our words, images and stories to move them.
