Northridge, CA October 19, 2017 – The Resistance – Northridge, Indivisible and Indivisible OC 46 will be protesting at the California GOP convention this Friday October 20th at the Marriott Anaheim. Steve Bannon will be the headline speaker at the California GOP Convention and Indivisible will be there to ensure that he and the GOP know that they reject their extremist and radical alt-right agenda. Steve Bannon with Breitbart News has contributed to bringing white supremacy and anti-sematic beliefs into the mainstream. The tragedies of Charlottesville clearly demonstrated the alt-right agenda fueled by racism. Indivisible is working to drive change at the local level protesting, but more importantly flipping districts blue to drive out this radical agenda.

“We will not stand for the hate that white supremacist Steve Bannon pushes while the complicit GOP lets it happen because they think it’s an opportunity to push their agenda like giving tax breaks to the top 1% to the detriment of millions of hard-working Americans who believed that they mattered to them. The Republicans continually take advantage of vulnerable people who are working to provide for their families,” stated The Resistance – Northridge, Indivisible leader Michelle Fowle. “They are trying to throw this country right over the cliff by feeding peoples’ fear to try and divide us. We are not going to let that happen. We stand with our fellow Americans; all of them.”

The group is also encouraging people to donate to Life After Hate. Life After Hate, Inc., a U.S. nonprofit, was created in 2011 by former members of the American violent far-right extremist movement. The group provides direct service to individuals who want to leave behind their lives of racism and violent extremism. The Trump administration eliminated a federal grant that Life After Hate had won in January to counteract hate crimes, white supremacist extremism, and neo-Nazi/white nationalist online recruitment.

About The Resistance - Northridge, Indivisible

The Resistance - Northridge, Indivisible, is a volunteer group of progressives in Northridge (Los Angeles) who are working together to drive political change starting at the local level. We stand for inclusivity, equality, freedom, and opportunity for everyone. We believe change starts municipally by building relationships with constituents to increase voter turnout in every election, especially in our community. We look for opportunities to drive change here and across the country and will work closely with activists in each area to assist in their efforts (i.e. phone banking and canvassing to help flip a district, etc.).
