SEPT 30 MEETING WITH TOM MOORE - CITIZENS UNITED IS DEAD...
... or at least, we can kill it in California - with your help!! How? - with the Corporate Power Reset! The Corporate Power Reset uses the state corporate charter laws to eliminate the power of corporations to make political contributions and would render the Supreme Court's 2010 ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission effectively irrelevant.
You can learn all about the Corporate Power Reset (also known as the Montana Plan) from the man who came up with the idea, legal scholar Tom Moore. This event is co-sponsored by Stand Strong Indivisible, San Fernando Valley Indivisible, Indivisible West Hills, and Northridge Indivisible and will be in lieu of our monthly meeting.
WHEN: Wednesday, September 30th, 7:30PM on Zoom

SCLC Annual March on Washington Anniversary
Join us at the SCLC Annual March on Washington Anniversary
Friday Action
Join us every Friday during August recess from 11am to 1pm. We'll be saving a seat for Senator Schiff to join us in front of his office every Friday so we can share our hopes for the Senator's leadership with him directly. At a time when many people are looking for direction and reassurance, we believe Californians need a senator who is not only an effective legislator but also an inspiring public leader—someone who regularly meets with constituents throughout the Los Angeles area, listens to their concerns, communicates a compelling vision, and energizes people to take action.

NO KINGS III Rally
RSVP: https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/902249/
We have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.
What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.
When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.
On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
Voter Registration Drive!
Calling all activists in LA County, California! Volunteers needed to register voters!
RSVP Here: https://www.mobilize.us/ft6/event/901119/
It's time to take a stand against the cruelty, the fascism, the oligarchy! It's time to help protect & defend Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA & Healthcare! It's time for us to defend our democracy – by expanding it! It's time to hold a voter drive!
Every Democrat we register breathes new life into our dreams for a better world. And all it takes is talking to people and filling out a short form.
No experience necessary. We'll start with an inspiring 15-minute training and deploy to a high-traffic area nearby. We'll have clipboards, forms, pens, and stickers! Just bring a little water, sunscreen, some comfortable shoes, and maybe a hat.
NOTE: If possible, wear a liberal-looking t-shirt, hat, or pin! It really helps.
