Write a letter to the editor workshop

  • Northridge Indivisible Los Angeles, CA, 91324 United States (map)

Our families, our economy, our democracy are in crisis. This Recovery Recess, we will show up together to demand Congress go bold and go big.

Please RSVP and invite friends to join you at the event!

We expect all participants to act lawfully at all times and to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

DESCRIPTION

This workshop will be used to write letters to the editor that have a high chance of getting published.

Our focus will be on the For The People Act (S1), ending the filibuster, and infrastructure to Build Back BOLD. The filibuster, in particular, is a Jim Crow relic and has been used and abused by conservatives to block civil rights legislation. The legislation that we're pushing for is to create equity and opportunity for all, especially the BIPOC community who is always the most impacted negatively. This cannot stand. We must do better. We can do better.

If you haven't done this before, no problem, our PR professional, Anita Lee, will walk all of us through it.

Getting a letter to the editor published is a big deal and something that every elected official pays attention to. Powerful would be an understatement.
