Georgia Senate Runoff Jan. 5
HERE ARE THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS YOU CAN HELP
WITH THE SENATE RUNOFF IN GEORGIA.
As we move forward, we can build upon our work for a more progressive future and that starts with Georgia. Let's make sure Mitch McConnell loses control of the Senate by helping to elect Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock to the United States Senate on January 5.
Over the last several weeks we've been talking with many grassroots group organizers in Georgia who have been diligently working within their communities over the last ten years to empower voters that have largely been ignored. Because of their focused work, they flipped Georgia blue on November 3 and have every intention to flip the United States Senate by electing Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock on January 5. Their largest need is funding. Republicans are planning on spending more than $100M to defeat Democrats in Georgia. We can stop them by supporting these excellent grassroots organizations by making sure they have what they need to be able to talk with voters.
One of the things we learned is that Georgia is extremely diverse and spread out. Youth, Lantinx, and Asian Americans showed up in huge numbers that helped flip the state. Right now, Georgia voters are tired and overwhelmed and want to hear from people and sources that they know and trust. The good news is that the infrastructure is already there. Our best strategy is to follow and respect Georgia organizers' lead. They have specifically asked for us not to physically go into Georgia to volunteer since we're unfamiliar with the landscape and would unintentionally do more damage than good. They are, however, grateful and excited by all the support of out-of-state volunteers who want to help; and they have put together the best way to do that below by signing up to volunteer virtually and/or to make a much needed donation to ensure that they are able to effectively reach every voter in their communities. If you're able, please send any amount you can to help these amazing groups.

SURJ
We work to undermine white supremacy and to work for racial justice. By organizing, mobilizing, and educating, we move white people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice.
